Challenges of Caring for Ourselves or for Others

About This Event

We’re so excited to host this event with Jennifer Lincoln, a licensed mental health therapist (LCSW) in the Bay Area, with over 16 years of practice experience and Superbloom’s founder Erin Berman.

Many of us have caregiving responsibilities including caring for children, elderly parents, a spouse, or other extended family members. This has especially been true this past year, due to Covid. And many of us have taken even more caregiver responsibilities, which can often cause stress and anxiety. Are you a caregiver in your home? How have your caregiving responsibilities impacted your mental well-being?

Even if you don’t have direct caregiver responsibilities, sometimes having a family member who does, especially if that family member feels stress from that caregiving, can cause us to experience vicarious trauma.

In this interactive discussion learn what caregiver burnout is, understand the definition of vicarious trauma and tools and techniques to address these. You’ll hear Jennifer’s thoughts and ideas and also be able to share your journey and learn from each other’s experiences.

This is going to be an interactive discussion

  • How can we identify caregiver burnout?
  • What tools are available to us to address caregiver burnout and vicarious trauma?
  • Finding what fills our cup
  • How to craft a self-care regime that works for us
